How the Alexander Technique could help you
The Alexander Technique can lead to dramatic reductions in pain, relieve tension, and help you move more freely. It works by showing you to how improve your posture in everything you do, from the way you sit and stand right through to how you hold a book in bed.
It’s a great help to people in all walks of life, equally popular with musicians in pain as a result of holding their instruments, sports people who feel they aren’t performing to their full potential, and office workers seizing up as they sit at a desk all day.
What an Alexander Technique session involves
James will take you through the movements you do in your everyday life, showing you how to change your posture so you move more easily and reduce stress and harm. Exercises are very gentle, with no pain involved. You may find relief after as few as one or two sessions; it may take much longer. An Alexander Technique session isn’t so much a treatment as a lesson in a skill that will help you for the rest of your life.
Experience and qualifications
James is approved by the Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique, and has been teaching the Technique since 2007. As well as running his private practice, he also manages the North West Alexander Technique Centre. With a degree in Cognitive Science, he helps people make lasting changes to their habits – you’ll continue to benefit from what you have learnt long after the sessions are over.
